The Contest 58 is well known for her fast passage-making in great comfort.The design of the 58' is a cooperation between Dick Zaal, then the in-house designer of Contest, Doug Peterson, who got famous with his designs for the Americas Cup! She offers a lot of space to a crew of 6 and has an extra crew cabin in the bow. Contest yachts are well known for their quality and are built to last. In 2008 she had several jobs done, i.e. new blackwater tanks, new boilers, new standing rigging, new sails, new hatches.

Currently she needs several works to be done, starting with a complete new deck.
